I have this little dream of doing something vaguely creative, even if it’s tiny, on a regular basis, maybe even every day.
I know there are tons of social networks out there that want to be the “home” for this type of thing. But I’m all over the place, randomly tinkering very poorly in many different mediums, and I also hate social media generally, so I want to find some way to publish the scraps of half-done work I have in a relatively quiet way, maybe using RSS.
I decided pretty quickly that I cared more about actually doing the little creative things than I did about building a way to publish them… and I think this is probably true for many people.
So what I’m aiming for is to have a web app that I can point at a DropBox folder full of random image, text, video, and audio files, and have a published website and RSS feed come out the other end. Maybe it could be enhanced with some metadata files or something, but I want that to be totally optional.
All I’ve got done so far is the “folder of little creative scraps”. I haven’t found the time to build the “publish” part of things… maybe I will soon, or maybe I’ll just keep making little things every day.

- Web domain: https://zchsh-artifacts.vercel.app/
- Currently there’s no UI work, it’s just Vercel’s “directory listing” feature. Very much an ugly first draft as a placeholder for some work I’d like to do at some point.
- GitHub project: zchsh/artifacts
- It’s not public yet, cause there’s nothing of substance there… once I have something I feel is actually useful to share, I’ll probably open it up!
- I also wanna rename this to
scraps, artifacts sounds kinda pretentious, and pretentious is the opposite vibe of what I want to feel when I’m considering dropping some new doodle in my folder of… scraps!
